Last week I was having a conversation with one of my Reiki Level 2 students…
She learned Reiki Level 1 from a teacher who told her that she has to do minimum 3 minutes of healing on 24 points every day
That comes to 72 minutes of healing every day…
First let me tell you that as per my research on the original healing methods of Dr. Usui, there were NO STANDARD POINTS AND TIME TO BE SPENT HEALING EACH POINT
these aspects were later introduced by teachers down the line to ensure some sort of framework/structure for beginner students.
However, there is a law known as the law of unintended consequences..
while theoretically, this is a good framework, a lot of new Reiki healers stop their practice
because for the simple reason that THERE IS NOT THAT MUCH TIME..
Hence, this is what I tell my students
For the first 21 days, do as best healing as possible…spend min. 30-45 minutes per day
After that, it’s fine to miss a day…or do even for 10 minutes…
Remember this: The more you do your self-healing, the more you will grow in self-awareness…
However, some Reiki is better than no Reiki…
More than the time per self-healing session, what is more important is CONSISTENCY
So, if you are a Reiki healer and have stopped practice due to the above reason, my suggestion to you is this:
- Do regular non-stop healing for 21 days…
- After that, devote a fixed time for healing every day – ideally in the morning for half an hour
- If half an hour is not possible, do however much time you have
- Even if you miss a day, that’s fine, don’t fret & look forward to the next day
